Taking to his Instagram, he posted throwback pictures from his childhood, including moments of pride and affection with his parents Hiroo and Yash. As the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani director reflected on his father’s special day, he wrote, “Today I stole some precious moments to honor my papa…1. Family hugs that were always in abundance thanks to him. 2. My 30th birthday…the release of my first directed film which made my father proud. 3. More cherished memories together. 4. A special moment on stage that will forever stay with me.” Karan’s father Yash Johar passed away on 26 June 2004 in Mumbai at the age of 74 due to a chest infection, after battling cancer.

On his late father Yash Johar’s birth anniversary, filmmaker Karan Johar shared some beautiful pictures from his younger days. Posting on Instagram, Karan took a stroll down memory lane as he reminisced about his father. The photos ranged from capturing proud moments of directing his first movie to loving embraces with both his parents Hiroo and Yash. In the caption, the director of the upcoming film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani wrote, “Today I’m sharing a few brief moments of nostalgia in honor of my papa’s birthday…1. Precious family hugs that were always abundant thanks to him. 2. My 30th birthday when my film was released and my father felt proud. 3. More moments overflowing with love and affection! 4. A cherished moment captured on stage with him…forever etched in my mind and heart! I miss you every day papa and thank you for being my guiding light until now.” Karan’s father Yash Johar passed away at the age of 74 on June 26, 2004 in Mumbai due to a chest infection while also battling cancer.
